1. Raw Material Composition
Main material: Basalt and diabase melted at high temperature and centrifuged into inorganic fibers, then cured with binder and hydrophobic agent.
Aluminum foil clad rock wool: Single-sided composite aluminum foil facing to improve vapor barrier, heat reflection and damage resistance.

Vertical fiber rock wool strip tensile strength: ≥80–150kPa (far higher than ordinary rock wool boards)
Compressive Strength (10% compression): ≥40–80kPa (rises with density)
Mass Moisture Absorption Rate: ≤1.0%
Short-term Water Absorption (partial immersion): Board ≤0.4kg/㎡, Strip ≤0.5kg/㎡
Hydrophobic Rate of hydrophobic grade: ≥98% (moisture and water absorption resistance)

5. Combustion Performance (Key Fire Safety Index)
Classification per GB 8624-2012: Grade A1 Non-combustible (default property of rock wool substrate)
Grade A1 features: Completely non-combustible, no open flame, zero smoke toxicity, no molten drips, calorific value ≤2.0MJ/kg.
Aluminum foil faced rock wool is mostly classified A2-s1,d0 (non-combustible grade).
Compared with elastomeric foam boards (Grade B1/B2 combustible), rock wool is the preferred fireproof thermal insulation material.
6. Acoustic Performance
Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC): 0.45~0.75. The porous fiber structure integrates thermal insulation, sound absorption and noise insulation, widely used for noise reduction in machine rooms, partition walls and air ducts.
