Project Overview
This is an upgrading and renovation project for the municipal central heating pipe network in a northern city, covering thermal insulation construction for urban main heating pipelines, household heating pipelines in residential communities, and equipment in heat exchange stations. The original aging insulation materials suffer from fast heat dissipation, vulnerability to damage, poor moisture resistance and short service life, resulting in massive heat loss and high risks of pipeline freezing damage in winter. This renovation focuses on upgrading to high-performance main insulation materials to improve the thermal insulation and energy-saving performance of the pipe network, reduce heat loss, and ensure stable urban heating supply in winter.

Project Scheme and Implementation
Targeting the special working conditions of heating pipelines featuring high temperature, humidity and long-term enclosed underground environment, our company adopts a combined scheme of high-performance main insulation materials. High-end aerogel blanket is used as the core insulation layer for main pipelines. With extremely low thermal conductivity and outstanding high-temperature resistance, its thermal insulation performance far exceeds that of traditional insulation materials, which can greatly cut heat loss of high-temperature pipelines and adapt to harsh working conditions such as steam pipelines and long-term continuous heating. Foil pixel boards are laid on the outer protective layer of pipelines and the outer surface of overhead pipelines for waterproofing, moisture prevention, anti-aging and thermal radiation reflection, providing all-round protection for the inner insulation structure. Narrow gaps in pipeline shafts, equipment rooms and other areas are filled with glass wool and pixel thermal insulation cotton to seal gaps, eliminate insulation dead angles, and realize both thermal insulation and noise reduction. All insulation materials feature good flexibility and high conformability, which can closely wrap pipeline substrates and adapt to long-term high-temperature and humid working conditions. The insulation structure is stable and not prone to falling off, fully meeting the high-standard construction requirements of municipal engineering.
Project Achievements
After the renovation, the overall heat dissipation loss of the pipe network is greatly reduced, the heating transmission efficiency is significantly improved, and the energy cost of municipal heating is effectively saved. The combination of high-performance main insulation materials including aerogel blanket and pixel thermal insulation cotton together with high-quality protective panels greatly enhances the anti-aging, moisture-proof and frost-resistant performance of the entire insulation system, effectively lowering the frequency and cost of later pipe network maintenance. This project fully verifies the engineering practicability of our company’s high-end insulation materials and serves as a benchmark case for regional heating energy-saving renovation.
